This Privacy Policy describes how Vortiquad collects, uses, stores and protects the information of people who use the Vortiquad browser extension ("the extension", "the service"). Vortiquad is the party responsible for processing the data described in this document.
This document should be read together with the service's Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict regarding personal data, this Privacy Policy prevails.
| Data | Detail |
|---|---|
| Email address | Server Used to identify your account, manage your subscription and authenticate you. We don't require a password: access is validated through the email linked to your subscription. |
| Session token | Local A technical identifier that keeps you logged in, stored in the extension's own storage inside your browser. |
| Screen captures | AI provider Images of the screen, window or tab you choose to share, captured only while a session is active. See section 3 for full detail. |
| Voice questions | AI provider The text resulting from your spoken question (transcribed by the browser itself), sent together with the screen image to generate the answer. |
| Session conversation history | Local (temporary) Stored in the browser's temporary memory (sessionStorage) only while the session is active, so the assistant doesn't repeat unnecessary context. It is automatically deleted when the session ends. |
| Activated Datasets / Knowledge Bases | Local Which knowledge bases you've unlocked and which one is active at any given time, stored in the extension's storage. |
| Usage data (session time, number of queries, processing costs) | Local Server Internal usage statistics associated with your account, used to manage your plan and improve the service. |
Vortiquad needs to see your screen in order to help you, so this section deserves special attention:
You are responsible for what you share: if you choose to share your entire screen instead of a specific window or tab, any content visible during the session (including other open applications, notifications, or sensitive information) may be captured and sent for processing. We recommend sharing only the specific window or tab you need, and avoiding starting a session over screens containing confidential information belonging to you or third parties.
Vortiquad uses the browser's native speech recognition to listen to your questions. This audio processing happens through the browser's own features, and what is sent to our servers is only the resulting transcribed text, not the audio itself. Likewise, answers are played back using the browser's native text-to-speech.
We do not use your data for advertising, nor do we build marketing profiles with your information.
We share information strictly with those necessary for the service to function:
We do not sell your data. We do not share your information with advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing third parties, under any circumstances.
We may disclose specific information if required by law, a court order, or a competent authority, to the extent strictly necessary to comply with such requirement.
It's important to distinguish two different places where your information lives:
Your session token, unlocked datasets, which Knowledge Base you have active, and your usage statistics are stored in the extension's local storage, inside your own browser. This data does not leave your device except when it needs to be synced with our server (for example, to validate your session).
Your email address, subscription status and aggregated usage data are stored on our server infrastructure so we can offer you continuous service across sessions and devices.
The conversation history within an active session lives only in the browser's temporary memory (sessionStorage) and is automatically deleted when the session ends or the browser is closed. It is not stored permanently.
Account data (email address, subscription status, usage statistics) is kept on our server for as long as your account remains active. We do not currently apply automatic deletion based on elapsed time: this data is retained until you expressly request the deletion of your account, at which point we proceed to delete it in accordance with section 9.
The conversation history of each session, as explained in section 7, is not retained beyond the active session.
As a user, you can at any time:
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at contacto@vortiquad.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time in accordance with the personal data protection regulations applicable in the Argentine Republic (Law 25.326).
We apply reasonable measures to protect your information, such as encrypted communication between the extension and our server. However, no system is completely infallible: we cannot absolutely guarantee the security of transmitted or stored information, and we recommend not sharing screens containing extremely sensitive information while a session is active.
Vortiquad is intended for professional and business use, and is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that an account was created using a minor's data without due authorization, we will proceed to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in the service or in applicable regulations. Changes take effect upon publication. If the changes are substantial, we will make reasonable efforts to notify them prominently within the extension or by email. We recommend reviewing this document periodically.
For questions about this Privacy Policy, or to exercise any of the rights described in section 9, you can write to us at contacto@vortiquad.com.
We also inform you that the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública, as the Control Authority under Law 25.326, has the power to handle complaints and claims filed in relation to non-compliance with personal data protection regulations.
