Terms and Conditions of Use

What Vortiquad is

Vortiquad is a Google Chrome browser extension that works as an AI-powered screen assistant. While a session is active, the extension periodically captures the content of the user's screen and lets them ask questions by voice, answering in real time using third-party language models.

Vortiquad also lets users activate topic-specific knowledge bases ("Knowledge Bases" or "datasets") that tailor the assistant's answers to a specific domain, such as customer support, sales, human resources or accounting, among others.

02

Acceptance of terms

By installing, activating or using Vortiquad, the user declares that they have read, understood and accepted this document in full. If you do not agree with any of these conditions, you must uninstall the extension and refrain from using it.

This document may coexist with a separate Privacy Policy, which specifically governs the processing of personal data. In the event of any conflict between the two documents regarding personal data, the Privacy Policy prevails.

03

Account and subscription

Access to Vortiquad requires identifying yourself with a valid email address and is subject to a paid subscription plan. The user is responsible for keeping the credentials associated with their account confidential and for all activity that occurs under that account.

  • Current commercial conditions (price, billing frequency, payment methods and refund policies) are disclosed on the sales site or the relevant purchase channel at the time of subscription, and may be updated over time.
  • The use of specific features may be limited depending on the contracted plan.
  • Failure to pay within the corresponding deadlines may result in suspension or cancellation of access to the service.
04

How it works technically

So that the user clearly understands what the extension does, its general operation is described below:

  • When starting a session, the user selects which screen, window or tab to share through the browser's native picker.
  • While the session is active, the extension captures images of the selected screen at regular intervals to keep context available.
  • The user interacts by voice: their microphone is processed by the browser itself (local browser speech recognition) and the assistant's answers are played back using the browser's native text-to-speech.
  • Each question, together with a recent screen image and that session's conversation history, is sent to a cloud service operated by Vortiquad, which in turn communicates with an external artificial intelligence provider to generate the answer.
  • The conversation history is kept only in the browser's temporary memory during the active session and is deleted when it ends.
05

Browser permissions

Vortiquad requests broad browser permissions because its main function — assisting on any screen or site the user decides to use while working — requires it. The user should understand the scope of these permissions before continuing:

PermissionWhat it's used for
desktopCaptureAllows capturing the screen, window or tab the user explicitly chooses to share when starting each session.
activeTab / tabsAllows identifying the active tab to display the assistant's interface and start the session where the user requests it.
scriptingAllows injecting the assistant's visual interface (the "bubble" and the conversation panel) into the page where the user decides to use it.
storageAllows saving session data, unlocked datasets and user preferences locally, inside the browser itself.
Access to all sites (broad host permissions)Allows the extension to be available for activation on any site the user visits, since it's not possible to predict in advance on which page the user will need assistance.

Important: having a technical permission does not mean the extension captures or processes content constantly or without the user's knowledge. Active screen capture only occurs during a session the user voluntarily started, and stops when that session ends or the corresponding tab is closed.

06

Screen capture and processing

The user is solely responsible for deciding which screen, window or tab they share during an active Vortiquad session. Before starting a session, it is expressly recommended to:

  • Avoid sharing screens containing confidential information belonging to you or third parties, sensitive financial data, credentials, medical information, or any data you do not want processed by a third-party artificial intelligence service.
  • Keep in mind that if you share your entire screen instead of a specific window or tab, any content visible during the session may be captured.
  • End the active session once the assistant is no longer needed, instead of leaving it running indefinitely.

Vortiquad is not responsible for the exposure of information that the user themselves voluntarily chose to share when selecting which screen to capture.

07

Knowledge Bases and AI-generated content

Knowledge Bases are reference content, prepared by Vortiquad, that steer the assistant's answers toward a specific subject domain (for example, customer support, sales and CRM, human resources, or accounting). Some Knowledge Bases require a specific activation code, subject to the commercial conditions of the corresponding plan.

The user acknowledges and accepts that:

  • The assistant's answers are automatically generated by an artificial intelligence model and may contain errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or outdated information.
  • The content of the Knowledge Bases is general and informational in nature, and does not replace professional judgment, applicable current regulations, or each organization's specific internal policies.
  • Vortiquad does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any answer generated by the assistant, with or without an active Knowledge Base.
08

This is not professional advice

The assistant's answers, including those generated with the Accounting, Human Resources or any other domain Knowledge Base, do not constitute accounting, tax, legal, labor, financial or any other type of professional advice. They are general, informational content.

Any decision with accounting, tax, legal, labor or financial impact must be validated with a licensed or qualified professional in the field, and against the regulations in force in the relevant jurisdiction, since such regulations vary by country and may change over time. Vortiquad assumes no responsibility for decisions made solely on the basis of the assistant's answers.

09

Acceptable use

The user agrees to use Vortiquad lawfully and in accordance with these terms. In particular, the user must not:

  • Use the extension to capture, process or transmit third parties' screens without their consent.
  • Share, resell or transfer Knowledge Base activation codes without Vortiquad's authorization.
  • Attempt to breach, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the service's authentication, subscription, or activation mechanisms.
  • Use the assistant to generate, request or disseminate unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory content, or content that infringes third-party rights.
  • Use the extension to collect third parties' personal data without a legal basis for doing so.

Failure to comply with this section may result in suspension or cancellation of access, in accordance with section 15.

10

Third parties and infrastructure

Vortiquad uses infrastructure and artificial intelligence services operated by third parties to process questions and generate answers. The operation of the service therefore depends on the availability and conditions of those external providers, over which Vortiquad does not have absolute control.

Vortiquad may modify, replace or update the technology providers it uses to deliver the service, without requiring prior notice to the user, provided this does not entail a substantial reduction of the functionality offered.

11

Intellectual property

The Vortiquad name, its logo, interface, code, Knowledge Base content and other elements of the service are the property of Vortiquad or its licensors, and are protected by applicable intellectual property regulations. These terms do not grant the user any license to reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially exploit those elements outside the extension's intended use.

12

Privacy and data

The processing of the user's personal data (email address, account data and, where applicable, content captured during an active session) is governed by Vortiquad's Privacy Policy, available separately from this document. Users are encouraged to read it before using the service.

13

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding uninterrupted, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vortiquad will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, including — without limitation — loss of information, business interruption, decisions made based on the assistant's answers, or exposure of information that the user themselves decided to share when selecting which screen to capture.

Nothing in this section is intended to exclude or limit liability in cases where applicable law does not permit such exclusion or limitation.

14

Service availability

Vortiquad strives to keep the service continuously available, but does not guarantee one hundred percent availability. The service may be interrupted due to maintenance work, updates, technical failures of its own or of third parties, or causes of force majeure.

15

Suspension and account cancellation

Vortiquad may suspend or cancel a user's access, in whole or in part, in the event of breach of these terms, fraudulent use of the service, non-payment of the corresponding subscription, or legal requirement.

The user may request cancellation of their account and subscription at any time through the contact channel indicated in section 18, subject to the commercial conditions in force at the time of contracting.

16

Changes to these terms

Vortiquad may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes take effect upon publication, unless a different date is indicated. Continued use of the service after a modification implies acceptance of the new terms. Users are encouraged to review this document periodically.

17

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. For any dispute arising from the interpretation, validity or performance of this document, the parties submit to the competent courts of the Argentine Republic, waiving any other venue or jurisdiction that might otherwise apply, except where a legal provision mandatorily applicable under the user's domicile states otherwise.
